Director of Marketing Content & Communications

 

Summary:


Looking for a self-motivated proactive person to drive all aspects of marketing communications for a leading landing optimization company that is currently developing several new product lines. The Director of Marketing Content & Communications leads the planning, development and execution of all marketing communication activities for the company. They work closely with senior management, in-house creative, and contract personnel to deliver strategic online marketing initiatives that build awareness and drive revenue.

 

Compensation will include reasonable base pay commensurate with experience and a significant performance-based bonus component tied to jointly developed milestones.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & management
    • Develop and execute an integrated marketing plan for services and strategic product activities, ensuring that communications meet defined product position and business objectives. Provide direction for all communication channels, including online content marketing, PR, websites, video, tradeshows, etc.
    • Ensure all marketing communication deliverables and programs have clear objectives
    • Direct and manage internal and external relationships to provide project deliverables on time and on budget
  • Content management
    • Inventory existing content – websites, blogs, articles, photos, logos, public relations material, sales and marketing collateral, presentation slide decks
    • Update content on a periodic basis to make sure it is consistent and up to date
  • Content creation
    • Create new blog posts, articles, testimonials, case studies, email newsletters
    • Create new content related to events and company chaired conferences
    • Assist in the creation of short form videos, webinar slides, e-books
  • Content syndication
    • Create and maintain a complete editorial calendar for all scheduled outbound communications
    • Coordinate with publications and editors to ensure a timely flow of outbound articles & blog posts
    • Schedule guests for upcoming podcasts and webinars
    • Support programming, promotion, and event planning for periodic live conferences
    • Monitor social media conversations on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn and flag for follow-up as necessary
  • Product Marketing
    • Develop product marketing plans with milestones for key company initiatives
    • Create required supporting materials (blog posts, case studies, testimonials, training & sales videos)
    • Set up affiliate programs and spearhead partnership/distribution relationships

 

Qualifications:

  • Motivated and hardworking self-starter who works well without frequent oversight
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong editorial skills
  • High level of integrity, attention-to-detail & professionalism
  • Ability to track all activities and reliably complete deadline-driven tasks
  • Ability to think strategically and develop creative ways to use marketing communications as a means of achieving marketing goals
  • Excellent project management skills including planning, organization, implementation, conflict resolution, achievement of deadlines, and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Must be effective at driving service and product strategy, strategy comprehension, and strategy consensus within a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated success in online marketing
  • Journalism/writing/marketing background preferred
  • Experience with the online marketing services industry preferred

We are on the lookout for the following skills sets wrapped in excellent people:

  • User Experience Expert - Analyze client sites and identify areas for improvements. Produce reports and mockups of suggested improvements. Requires a User Interface Design background and excellent written communication skills. PhotoShop experience is a plus.
  • Web Analyst - Responsible for setup and administration of all website analytics using Google Analytics. Create, analyze, and understand key performance metrics based on clients' business goals. Understand the key drivers of performance related to online marketing campaigns. 3+ years experience as a Web analyst and running pay-per-click campaigns. Highly proficient at analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Social Media Marketer - Help SiteTuners to achieve our branding and marketing communication goals through participation in various social media networks. Write and post blog content, include our company in appropriate online conversations, research and monitor conversations about our industry (online reputation management). Develop metrics to measure success of the program. Requires excellent writing skills and at least 2 years experience in Web 2.0 venues.
  • Website Designer - Design web templates, sites, and landing pages. Includes design of layout, creation of graphics, and writing of text. At least 2 years experience in web design required. Proficient with Photoshop, Dreamweaver. Solid writing skills and understanding of clean web design principles.
  • JavaScript Programmer - Responsible for implementing the code to run SiteTuners landing page tests for our clients. Must have extensive experience with DHTML and CSS. Experience with a variety of scripting languages and content management systems a plus.
  • Google Website Optimizer - Run Google Website Optimizer tests for our clients. Responsible for all phases of GWO tests including determining what to test, implementing, running, and analyzing results of tests.
